I see no problem with it if he's up front about it. He's dropping cash on a tool that you only really need to use once. Should I need my fenders rolled I'd shell out a few bucks towards the cause or make payment in beer.

I need to find some aftermarket rims

well, if it's something that i'd use often, then i wouldnt charge money for it, but it's something that people only use once ( as in my case).
my intention for buying the tool was so that people here dont have to pay $70~80 for renting the tool compared to ~$40 (depending on the shipping charge) which im planning to charge.
and if i were to go to a meet or anything, i wouldnt charge any money for it at all.
i just wanted to make few bucks on the side to cover the tool cost and little bit of spending money.
by all means, im not trying to make big bucks here. heck, if people organize a meet in my area, i'd be more than happy to lend the tool and help out as much as possible.
i offer help if need as i have done for past few years helping my friends fix their computer and car etc for no cost.

fair enough and i do understand your post

we've never "rented" anything between us before - most folks here do go out of their way to help one another just like you said - you help your friends with their cars and computers - please understand, we are a tight knit group and we all consider each other friends here (no matter what we post on line about each other)

i agree with your point as well.
i wish i had a better paying job so i wouldnt have to quadruple think about spending money on car parts. especially when im trying to pay off the car and save up some money for (hopefully) dental school in the future.
i wish there are more meets around hartford area, so i can actually get to meet and know people.

just chew some more gum

pretty sure no one has implied that you should lend out your tools as we all know that's how you make a living

you want to be an awesome CO - do something like a BBQ or something like stop being a dick online and let people do what they want without your silly rules
