Default Update on my tilted car

Ok, so I took the car back to the shop this AM to get the rear right strut replaced. They replaced the strut and it made no difference. The rear right was still couple inches lower than the rear left. They spent some more time and found that the lower control arm was bent. They put the old strut back and now ordered a lower control arm and related parts. It's going to be another couple days wait for the parts and then I'll have to take the car back so they can install the new control arm. :-( I hope that this will take care of it.

I don't know why they could not figure out the bent control arm in the first place when the car was on the frame machine (what's is called?). Is it because the geometry changes when you lift the car and the suspension is set free?

Experts?

the frame machine probably does not take the wheels/tires into account - they probably did not notice the bent arm when they were repairing... Or maybe it got bent during repair?

Yes, that's what they tell me, they did not notice it before. I'm pretty sure it was like that after the accident since the rear right side of the car took the first impact. It could have also been damaged during towing?

Mas,

If the control arm is bent you may want to have the control arm mounting locations checked out too. I suspect they will have to do this while they are replacing the arm, but ask them to make sure nothing is bent on the chassis. Maybe Max can give an opinion on this.

I know they are replacing the knuckles and all other connecting parts as well. I'm definitely going to ask them details when I take the car back in. I'd really like for someone else to look at the car afterwards, I just don't know who.

Thanks!! I'd really appreciate that Would you prefer to look at it before they replace the control arm or you'd like to see it afterwards? They'll probably replace it before the end of the week or on monday.
