As a parent with a kid in college, this type of thing is terrifying, even though my kid is no where near Virginia.

All but 31 of us take a deep breath today.

Stricter gun laws will do nothing to stop senseless crapola like this from happening. All it does is keep the sane, law abiding people from having the right to own guns. The bad guys don't need or care about permits or legal firearms. How many asshats that rob convenience stores at gunpoint have license to carry?

They could start turning all schools and colleges into airports with screening to enter. But then what about the malls? Parks? Where does it stop? Sad to say, but nothing in the entire world can stop a determined individual from planning and executing a plan to kill people like this. If not for guns, it would have been a bomb or some other device.

I feel very bad for the victims and their families. May the shooter rot in hell.

Geez, we were on the same page there for a bit.

I like parts of the NRA, but don't care for Heston AT ALL.
