Have you made any plans for Vermont yet? If you have any questions feel free to PM me also if you have any questions about R.I. I've pretty much divided my life between the two states. I second lainey's recommendation of the Maine Diner.

Just a quick heads up. The competition was today at noon, and we had lost a few of our original members for the square, so we we're not
quite as strong as last year. We got washed out about half-way through. The winners where college kids from MIT in their Tech Squares. They earned their medals.

No definite plans for VT yet. That Rt 100 sounds good, as well as the highway in NH. We will look up the Maine Diner.

We saw our second S yesterday while we were driving east on the Kacamungus Hwy (112) in NH yesterday. Flashed a "V" as they passed us going the opposite direction.

We made it home today, safe, sound, and a good tired. New England is been on our list to return. Two weeks was not enough. We had a great time seeing parts of CT, MA, RI, VT, NH and MA.

I think we drove over 1,800 miles in our grand tour, all in those states. It was ironic that we flew from Phoenix to Hartford and our rental car for the NE trip had an Arizona plate (no front plate required in AZ). Every place we went to was beautiful. I'm glad we came now, even with the rain days and a foggy first day when in Acadia National Park, and not during the winter. I think the next trip will be in the Fall some future year to see all the colors in the trees. (Our second day in the park was clear and sunny. I got sunburned!

We got lucky just "winging it" for most of our triip for rooms, and some of our stays were right on the coast. We drove VT Rt 100, NH 112 and avoided the toll roads until our last days. Some stops were planned, others as the mood hit us. It was all great.

Glad you liked it.
It's hard for those of us who live here to point out stuff to do. We're so used to it.
And yes, the foliage can be rather awe inspiring.
