We're back
Back from a whirlwind tour of New England
Visited sister in NH. Left Saturday PM. We were heading to VT yesterday they were in their Mercedes 230 convertible, us in the S. Then the rain came! WTF was that about? The weather man said rain in the afternoon, not the AM! Oh, and then the top wouldn't go up on the Mercedes, and it was POURING!
We turned around to head back to their place but made one more stop to check out the top. They found what the top was getting hung up on. Problem solved, but time was racing by so my brother in law came up with a Plan B for a route.
We left NH after dinner and headed to Ogunquit, ME, one of my favorite spots. Spent some time there this AM,
and headed back after lunch. Lots of top down driving.
Traffic on Route 128
long ride home.
I'll post some pics later for those of you who don't get out much.

OK. Ogunquit Maine. Beautiful, quaint spot which for some reason, soothes my soul.
The beach is beautiful, but the water is cold. The sand is hard, so you can walk for miles and not sink in with every step. Wear sneakers or sandals, as it can hurt your feet, (I know this from experience).
We didn't plan a day at the beach, but we walked on the beach for about an hour. It was a "sea of humanity near the beach entrances, but you can get away from the crowds if you are willing to walk.

Taken from the bridge on the way to the beach

These are from Perkins Cove. Little area with shops, restaurants, etc. You can arrange a scenic sailing cruise, and other boat tours from this area.

From Marginal Way. A mile and a quarter walk that overlooks the ocean.

These folks think they have a great beach spot, until the tide comes in.

And a few more of the area and a little "summer cottage" as well as one from shore drive, on out way out of town.
