Default What to do?

Maybe I'm over reacting or something, but it seems that every time my wife takes the S for the day it comes back with new marks, chips etc. How can I go about saying something or doing something so she doesn't get all pissy? She's not a bad driver, but tends to be a bit close to the car in front of her when driving. Her car VW Jetta is all chipped up in front due to this. Last night after she came home with the S and I noticed two new, good size paint chips while washing it. Any advice...

You can suggest she try to keep more distance between her and the vehicle in front of her, outside of that you'll have to review the thread from last year for ideas.

BTW are you SURE this only happens after she drives it? Do you inspect it before she heads out? Our front paint has plenty of chips too.

At some point in the future you won't care about a few paint chips.
really trust me. a few kids and a few ER visits, maybe watching an EKG for a couple hours, none of that will matter.

if not try Lorazipam or xanax. either way it ain't worth the battle or the worry.

I just don't let my wife drive it. Point blank, no BSing about it. She has no need to and she is not into cars in the least bit, so it isn't too big of an issue.

The way I look at it is that any hard feelings from me telling her she can't drive are less than the hard feelings there would be after she damages it. And, I believe she WOULD certainly damage it because she sucks at driving.

Just tell her it has been bothering you and that you think it's a better idea if she lays off the car. You may have to get her something to make up for it or occupy her instead of the car, but it's worth it in the long run.

Not all women are cut out to drive this car like Lainey.

Good thing you added that disclaimer.
