Default What to do...

Car sat most of last year in the driveway. Drove it very infrequently due to CE light and couldn't get it inspected. CE light is multiple misfires. I'm sure it's got bad gas right now complicating the issue.

I've replaced the coils (used but check out with voltage), new plugs, new injectors (cleaned flowed and tested), valve adjustment.

What would you do right now to get it road worthy? Yeah, I know it's an open ended question. The test subject is an '00 AP1 with 186k miles on the odo. Compression was a bit low in cyl 2 when Scotty did the last valve adjustment a couple years ago.

I'm thinking of the following:
1) drain gas out of tank (anyone know the best route for this?).
2) new in-tank fuel filter.
3) possibly new valves/retainers (nothing I can do myself in my driveway. I could drive the car to scotty, but it's a long walk back home. ) So, suggestions?

Any other thoughts on the above in getting rid of random misfires? The tech forums are full of various people posting various fixes without one or two concrete answers. Of course, that's the nature of the random misfire code... could be almost anything.

Grrr.

I've had the light reset with the scan tool. This would be different?

No. I'll keep it until they come out with a BRZ Turbo (or SC) convertible.

I shook the RX-7 at the barn and still hibernating - never seen a bear hibernating for 3-4 years.
Wonder how many little critters inside the HVAC system.

Mine turned out to be a faulty alternator. Does you dash flicker before the cel comes on? Mine did.
