Default What to do in RI for a week?

Ok, so I had access to a beach house in Narragansett, RI all summer. Only been there a couple of times due to weather and other engagements. I will be out on vacation all next week and plan on going there for the whole week starting tomorrow afternoon.

Besides the obvious of just hitting the beach all week or meeting everybody out for the meet, greet and bbq @ colt state park what else is there to do???

I have already cruised up and down route 1 and hit Newport to my hearts content. I am actually thinking of leaving the S home and taking my motorcycle instead. Not that I have been driving the S much lately or the motorcycle at all. BLAH. I guess I should be happy I am employed.

I can

We were just in that area last week, mostly spent our time on Misquamicut beach, but that suited us just fine.

If your wife is with you, some folks like the small area in Wickford Village for shopping, etc.

We found some scenic roads over in CT, around the Putnam, Woodstsock area, can't think of the route, but you probably know about those. If not, I can have Rick look at the map for the Route #

If you are truly bored, over in Wakefield, RI is a place called the Mews. If you are a beer drinker, get yourself a designated driver as they have 69 kinds of beer on draft. That should occupy you for a while.

If you haven't already check out Jamestown also it is a fun area to explore it is right next to Newport. Plenty of night-life and decent restaraunts around Narragansett, check out Charlie-O's, The Coast Guard House, Bon-View Inn (if it's still there) and Aunt Carrie's over at Pt. Judith has great Clam Cakes.

Go over to block island. I think they have a ferry or something. Charter a fishing boat and go kill some fish. Take sailing lessons. Check out the mansions. There used to be a Newport car museum. Take up scuba diving. Rent a Jet Ski!

After you do all those, I'll think up some more things for you.

Hey Bill that must of been a mouthfull! Yeah I am going to setup a charter to do some serious striper fishing. I am also bringing my surf casting poles. So a lot of fishing is already in order

Thanks all for the inspiration. I think I have been just loaded up here at work and just needed a lift. I am feeling much better. 4hours left and off to a weeks vacation.

See you all at Colt state.
