What should i be asking?
Well Ive had my S up for sale now for a couple months and no hits really. Im not sure what i should be asking for it at this point. its an 02 sebring, about 69,000mi the body is in good shape. the car is keyed on the passenger side door and fender and also has a small ding in the drivers side door. I have the system in it, intake, x brace and other then that its pretty much stock. My top latches are broken but i do have the new ones and just have to put em on. What should I be asking?
According to KBB, which most private party buys live by, your car valued in "good" condition, goes for $15,900. Everyone wants a deal, so I would say you can get $15,500 for that all day on a private sale. trade in on the same car is just above $14,000. So I think private is the way to go.
IMO, and it's what I have done before, take all your aftermarket parts off and sell them here. You will get absolutly nothing for them still on the car. They add no value. But, sold separatly, you can get some money to pay off the gap between what you owe and what you get for the sale. When I parted out my first S, I made several grand on selling parts, which I used to pay down the balance and use for a down payment on my new truck.

i would remove all the mods and sell them separately & bring the car back to stock
i'd also do my best to buff out the key marks (unless they are really dug into the paint) and install the latches and detail the car so it looks great
if you want to sell it fast - 16k is a fair price
problem is that (at least me anyway) would rather buy a car from a
guy because most perceive the
folks don't beat on their cars ( ie perceive) rather than buying from a young gun

I think 16,900 is a good asking price. I sold my 01 stock for almost the same price last December with 50k. Have you tried Craiglist for NH, ME, and all Boston areas? I had tons of hits for both my CR-V and S2K when I sold.

I was thinking 15,500 too.
