Good question. I am curious as well!

My wife bought me an S2k cover from Honda and I just had her detailed not too long ago. Couple of things I heard about doing:

- Oil change before storage. When you pull it out in the Spring do another O/C

- Disconnect the battery? Not sure on this one. On such a new car I wouldn't expect any issues, plus resetting the codes is a PIA

- I plan on greasing up the roof seals. I've got some Silicone vacuum grease that I was going to try

- I need to find some 303 to put on the top before storage

I am curious as to what others would recommend. I hate to think that storage time is coming so soon after such a killer convertible season!

Thanks for the reply/ info. My only concern is I feel that the oil change on my car might not be necessary. What do you think? I currently have under 12k miles on her and I just had the oil changed (to Mobil 1) less than 2k miles. This means I'll probably putting my S to sleep with less than 3k miles since her oil change. Any recommendations? In the spring I plan on changing oil and adding new tires.

I'm in the same position. I just changed the oil (dino) about 1,000 miles ago. I plan on going to synthetic in the spring. I'll have about 10K by then. I hate to change now and then dump the unused but 4 month old oil. Does anyone really know what's best here?

Maybe I'll put some fresh dino oil in for storage and leave the old filter. Then in the spring I'll change to synthetic and put on a new filter. Comments or suggestions anyone?

I switched to Mobil1 synthetic this past April and i think i may change the oil soon before i put her away. In the spring of 06 before i start driving her again, i will probably change the oil again for safe measure.

As far as storing the S, all i have been doing the past 2 years is park her in the garage cleaned and with a fresh oil change. I condition the leather etc and start her up say once every few weeks and let her idle for a few just to get the lubricants moving around etc. OH, and i put a full tank of gas in her before being put into storage. I may also buy a Honda car cover for the indoor use.

Hmmm, i think thats all i do. Cant think of anything else

Is letting her sit unstarted for 5 months going to have any harmful effects on startup in the springtime? I can't access the garage at any time over the winter so I am curious.

It's been amusing watching peoples reaction when I drive by in 40 degree temperatures first thing in the morning with the top down I can't fathom the fact that winter is only a couple of months away...
