Oh well it was fun while it lasted. Hopefully we will come out with a third place finish on Saturday.

 

3rd or 4th place where we will end up being is quite far from "Sucking" Had france NOT gotten granted the penalty kick, it wouldve been a different outcome for sure, as no-one in the game scored... beside a penalty that was granted in France favor. In the end the big-guys end up winning. BUT we did evry good for a country of our size.

Consider how many hundred countries there are in the world, and we end up in the top 4 best of the World! Quite an accomplishment to say the least. Where did the US end up? Thank you. You may know something about basball, but learn something about football, then you can talk smack Get Cultured !!!

You should have seen the portuguese fans from new bedford the neighboring town to me. They were driving all over the city hanging out of there windows, beeping, waving flags ... just being ridiculous.

nfl - mlb - nba - nhl............ why???? we're all entitled to celebrate
especially for something of this magnitude, this happens every 4yrs
and involves the world - 30 BILLION People tuned in to view this tournament
NOTHING ELSE will even come close........ Besides actual War!
this is as close as you will get to National Competition between
countries - pride, culture, and history are all put on the line.

this isnt a silly domestic championship (World Series??????)

who came up w/ that BS?????? we all found out what happened to the US
when they invited other Baseball teams from other countires for a little tournament!
the world is catching up in other sports, but the US is still ages behind in the
one true "world" sport.

Soccer is one of the few sports that every country in the world participates
and to finish 3rd or 4th out of 350+ countries involved is pretty damn good...

I am not here to bash the US, France, Brasil, but so often we put ourselves
on pedestals and declare victory before battles are fought........

in the end we all fall flat on our faces are shoved under a rug so hopefully
no one seen it and will forget about it...........

I have more sorrow for the Germans losing @ home in the last minute of overtime
then I did for Portugal's loss.......... in the EURO we reached the finals on our
home stadium and lost 1-0 to Greece (a team that couldnt even qualify for the World Cup, who's under investigation)......... that was tough!

In all I am just proud to have seen it and enjoyed it to the fullest.... hopefully
one day I will be around to see Portugal hold that Golden Trophy...
