Doesn't seem like much to me. He's been building this business for the last nine years. For all his work, he's realized about $10,000 in added value per year, using a modest guestimate of inflation and the time value of money. He could work a 9 to 5 job, save 10K a year, and be just as well off.

 

Bill the ad revenue alone is worth 56k per year.

add in all the donations and the 250.00 a month the sponsors pay and he's built up a nice revenue generating site

This is his full time job as far as I know. Figure 85 to 100K per year BEFORE expenses... I think he has to pay some bills, despite all the volunteer time he gets on the forum. If he's lucky he clears around $80K before taxes. And who knows how much he invested out of pocket or how long it took him to build it up to this level? I'm guessing the first five years were not even half that good. I'm guessing he had years where he lost money. I'm not saying he should not be proud of what he has built up, but I'm not going to quit my job anytime soon to start a web site. Maybe he has four or five sites like this. That would be interesting.
