Default WTF

Ok I tend to support the second amendment pretty strongly although I'm not an NRA kinda guy. I'm not real fond of the fees associated with the FID's etc..

BUT 8 yr old shoots himself with uzi at gun show
WTF????

Where were the frigging adults here folks?
I'm not against gun education for kids in fact I would almost want it to be mandatory so kids have some respect for the weapons.
But somewhere along the line you cross from reasonable and prudent to just plain irresponsible and stupid.

This is just sad.

Morons ...

You have to be a certain age or height to ride amusement park rides ...

You have to have a Valid license to drive car ...

But there are no restrictions on holding a Gun

I am also for the second amendment .. but Guns are not for Kids

Yeah, that happened in the town next to me. When I was doing ACW reenacting, the Company wouldn't even allow anyone under 16 to handle an unloaded musket. The recoil of a double load with no ball could jam the butt into your shoulder pretty good. Drop in a minie ball and it had quite a kick. An Uzi on full auto must really want to ride up. (Even Armold shooting up the disco in Terminator would have had a hard time keeping the barrel down.) Supposedly, the kid was under the control of the range master.

I am all for teaching kids the propper handling and use of guns at an early age. Takes the mystery out of it and lessens the chances of an accident down the line.

Why someone would let a small kid fire a fully automatic weapon though is beyond me. That kid should have been shooting a .22 rifle or something.

8 years old!? I believe the priority is to teach kids at this age to read and write first, before firing an Uzi. Come on!!!!

IMHO, this is not a 2nd amendment issue. This is an adult stupidity issue.

Why shouldn't a kid that age be able to learn gun safety and use under direct adult supervision? No one is saying teach gun safety INSTEAD of school work

It is the same argument why not to teach 8 years old to drive a car.

Just maybe physically it is not feasible or it is just downright dangerous?
