Default YASOTT

yet another sign of the times.

Mass has it set up so you can file your weekly unemployment claims online, a good thing.

there are so many people filing that is has just buried there servers.
Last week it took 55 minutest to get through the 4 pages.

At twenty minutes so far....

I saw on the news that people are calling for days upon days to get through to someone only to finally get a recording to call back another day.

You are supposed to call on a certain day, based on your SS number. I was told by someone at Unemployment, you can call the next day if you can't get through. If your day is Friday, you can call on Saturday, I'm not sure if you don't lose $ if you don't call in the week you are supposed to.

However as you can tell, it appears they can't handle the number of claims.

I got a mailing that they have Sunday hours now to help handle the case load for people calling in for initial claims.

Same thing in RI. My father in law used to work there and now collects from RI. It was quite a chore to get it set up, but now it just takes a call every sunday morning. Sometimes you have to call back several times though.
