Actually thats exactly what we did, the cellar bev fridge is now the main fridge. Just sux goin up and down the stairs everytime you want something.

Will do, we sure did like it at the store. This thing has 20% more room due to the layout and I like the fact the the water used for the ice cubes is purified also. Most fridges do not purify the water used for ice they just purify the water coming thru the door to drink. This one has a lot of new bells and whistles. Temp alarms,ability to set temp digitally,can control door temps etc. Just hope its reliable,but we got a 10 year all inclusive warranty so that should fill the bill.

We bought it from a local appliance dealer that is great with service. It is ironic that yesterday was there annual sale where they give you a free 10 parts and labor warranty, 10% off and a free toshiba dvd player for any appliance purchase.
The one that just died was a 7 year old maytag and yes we replaced it with another. Maytag is now owned and manufactured by whirlpool. Maytag went downhill and got sold 2 years ago. So its basically a whirlpool fridge now.
A few factors made our decision easier, first was the service our local dealer is great, the 10 parts and labor warranty cannot beat that, and it is the only 32 inch wide french door / with ice water thru the door made by any manufacturer. Also it is avail in bisque which is a must here as our entire kitchen- range,dishwasher,speed oven is in this color.

I love french doors.
It makes it so much easier to get in and see what's in the fridge.
With the side by side type stuff tended to get buried in the back.
We bought ours when they were sort of new to the market.
I wished I had waited a little bit and got the ice maker/water dispenser option. I miss that part.
