Ted's Montana Grill

bison is not gamey at all. it's like a lean cut of beef.
Bison prime rib is awesome.

i'll second that on bison; not gamey at all. in fact if it was served without you knowing i don't think you'd know that it was not beef. but as for picky eating; try not eating cheese in this culture (for the record it is one of my favorite foods!). it's everywhere. on salads, veggies and on and on. the look you get when ordering a pizza without cheese is great. oh well, bon ape....er...eat well.

I've had a bison burger a few times, and I thought it was decent. I think the aftertaste was distinctly different, so you knew it wasn't beef, but it still had good flavor of its own. If you put onions & mustard on a burger like I do, and had a nice medium bodied beer to wash it down, you'd be hard pressed to tell the difference. Certainly enjoyable.

As for other things, I'm still like a kid. I do NOT like my vegetables. Specifically, cooked vegetables. I like a good salad, but most cooked vegetables simply do not appeal to me. I will simply NOT eat any asparagus, squash, zucchini, or eggplant.

So my cooked vegetable issues often do make things difficult at restaurants, since there's usually something integrated into a meal. I can always find something, though.

No bison for me either. We were with some friends who gave the restaurant barely a five out of 10. Rick and one other person had salmon, they said it was good, our other friend had some kind of crab cake plate.

We're not rushing back there.

Oh and Jeff, you may have seen me at the Mexican place, but I was eating American food.

Ruby Tuesday has bison burgers and I've always wanted to try one but chickened out.

How is it compared to ground beef? I know it's leaner and supposed to be tastier but
I'm not a big fan of it tasting "gamey".
i've had it at ruby tues. I like it... couldn't tell the difference

I'm not that picky, but you have to put things into perspective....

If you're bored, click here: G's food photo's to see what my bro eats. Yes, he takes pictures of his food when he comes across an interesting dish. Make sure to read the commentary with the photos as some are amusing

"The duck feet, i think taste better than chickens feet, but since its mostly skin it picks up whatever sauce its in for the most part, itself it does have good flavor.
The jellyfish was like eating noodles, udon like, long stringy and with the chewy characteristics of tripe."

I don't consider myself at all picky, I'll try just about anything once.

There are however some foods I refuse to even try anymore
- Duck, my digestive track cannot handle the fat
- Brussel Sprouts, bitter little nasties

Oh, there is more, turnips and parsnips I would be more than happy to leave on my plate...

I'll skip the duck, rabbit, goat, and other meats, mostly due to a mental block.

The brussel sprouts are OK, if you drown them in butter.

I like turnips, but only when mixed and mashed with carrots. Traditional veggie around here, especially at Thanksgiving. Tried to feed some to a few of these guys once, along with raw turkey , dinner didn't get a rave review.

Parsnips, I think I've tried once....that was enough.

I avoid seafood places. Even the non-seafood tends to have a
"fishy" taste unless it's a higher end place. And the aroma wafting
through the restaurant makes me lose my appetite real fast.
