Default 5 years and 3 engines later...

Well I have had my S for almost 5 years now and trying to decide if its time to let her go. In the past year I have only driven her around 5 times because of a slight knock that I didn't want to get worse. I have started pulling everything off the car to install a stock engine I bought. I don't have the time to deal with the issues that come with boost so I'm going back to N/A. I hope once its back to pretty much stock that I will enjoy the car. Never thought I would say that! It has been fun having a 500hp car but it comes at a high price that I'm just not able to justify anymore. Thought about selling her complete but decided parting it out would recover more of my investment. So Doug came over and took some pictures of some of the parts. I will put a post up in our local forum first then Doug's going to help me out with one for the main forum. Hopefully she will be back together soon and I can start going to the meets again

Sorry to hear Jared. I know your pain; way to much. As it is for me now, I am just waiting for my head to get back from inline pro. Looks like my slight water leak was because the head way never plained on the last build.

The tolerances for these motors are cannot exceed 4/1000th and have to be exact. Plus finding a tuner is nuts half the time.

I understand your decision, I guess I am still that stuborn still. I don't know.
It will all work out. I wish you luck with the sale buddy.

Sorry to hear about your luck, but I hope after all that power you can be happy with NA. I am able to enjoy being NA at near stock power levels. I just got back from a 2200 mile CO road trip and the car never missed a beat. It was a lot of fun in the Rockies for sure!!

Whatever you do don't get rid of it. There is a lot of fun to be had even at low power IMO.

this is very true, the s is very capable in the stock form and with suspension modifications (its even betteR). if in the even you do need something more high powered that will last all day getting beat on just get a c6 vette. srsly

Yeah if anyone feels my pain its you Sucks when you pay someone a lot to build your motor and they dont plain the head or in my case match the bearings correctly! Im assuming your doing the work to your car and the shop that fu$ked you isnt helping?

Not a corvette kinda guy Although I do like the engines in them and if the S doesnt do it for me when its back to stock a Z06 powered M3 might be next?

Have not really talked with them, only cause I was told everything was fine and it was not. They don't remember the bore size for my block...
The head is at inline pro right now, getting ported and polished, bronze valve guides, inline pro dual valve springs and titanium retainers, new TCT mod, and a couple of over things I kind of can't remember right now.
