Default Damn Sergeant.

driving home today some sergeant pulled me over and gave me a speeding ticket. i asked for a court date. how does it work in New Mexico? do they offer traffic school?

i think the only reason i got pulled over is 'cause i'm black.

I don't know about traffic school.

How fast were you driving, and what was the limit?

I had the exact same problem in my civic x.x. 42 in a 30. I think it's because 42 is the answer to life, the universe, and everything. The cops just don't understand that.

Get a Passport or Valentine! My detector has saved my booty many times. If you go court, on what grounds are you planning to challenge the ticket on? You could try to see if the officer had sufficient training to use the equipment, or if the equipment was calibrated correctly, etc. You would have to file a discovery motion to get that information. In the end, going to driving school may be the easiest way to go. Good Luck.

When was the last time you had a speeding ticket? or had you before? If you haven't within the last 18months you will be offered a 90 day defered sentence and driver improvement school.

Definitely invest in a Passport 9500i! It has the ability to lock out false alerts and also has GPS! Not to mention it has on multiple occassions detected LASER! So far, after a year with the AP2... No speeding tickets... Knock on wood...

You may get lucky and they may not catch the out of state ticket. They will offer you a plea deal if they have one.
