just found out
bringing this thread back. ive been seriously considering joining either the army or airforce for a while now. ive got a good job now but sitting behind a desk is driving me insane. pretty much every guy in my family has been in the military but i wanted an opinion from someone outside the family. do you guys like what you do? which would you recommend looking more into, the airforce or army? i have about 2 billion questions but i dont want to bug anyone.
Hey man come talk to me, I have been around, made my way up the ranks, done lots of shit, and know lots of ins and outs. You can talk to Jerry, but honestly won't be the same as someone who knows all the pros and cons, especially now days. The military has really changed a lot over the last 5 years. Let me know and we could meet up, I have lots of info to share, and especially if you are going enlisted, officers have no clue what is really going on. ( I dealt with nothing but officers everyday for 2 years...from 0-1 to 0-7's)
ya id be enlisted. but i have an assoicates and im dang close to a bachelors. my dad said in his day(30 years ago) when you joined if you had an assoicates you came out of basic with 2 stripes. my biggest concerns are i have a ridiculous amount of work experience and tons of schooling so i dont want to come out of basic in the same position as someone straight out of highschool. if you decide to go to the elliots meet we should talk about it. Im not totally set its something i want to do but its a very strong option ive been considering
either way we should talk, I am not here to convince you either way, I am just going to give it to you straight, without the sugar coating most would give you. The decision is a big one that has commitment bigger then you know.
one of my best friends joined the air force a while back, and he kept telling me all this good stuff about it that the recruters told him and when he left it was all great they got him a plane ticket, hotel but weeks into basic his knee went out and came back greyhound. I gave him so much shit about that.. like that Jerry Meguiar when Cuba says "didnt we arrive by limo?" hahaha
