Am I the only one that hates the color of the NM license plates x.x? I've always wanted to get a dremel and just sand off the color around the red texts. Silver aluminum would be better than the yellow. Or something like....
I would make it look good though. (edit: not my plate )

 

i've always liked delaware's plates - black with white letters. nothing else.

I like the old Cali plates, black and yellow, or blue and yellow.

 

i like texas plates. but hate the fact you need 2 plates on your car.

 

The ones with the hot air balloon are worse. Once I import my car here in Ontario the plates are either blue/ black letters on white. I am just not sure if you get them with rust or not though...

Every ones license plate here seems to be rusted.

seriously though, there are so many alternate plates available here in NM it's crazy. Collegiate plates, wildlife fund, military, kids trust fund, pet care, FOP, route 66, the list goes on... http://www.tax.state.nm.us/pubs/specplate.htm
