Default Non-Staggered Wheels

I am possibly looking at the idea of changing to a equal tire setup during winter times to try and get as much tread out of tires as possible. Because most companies half the warranties for tread wear on a staggered setup I might be looking to get a set of 06 STI BBS rims. They have the same bolt pattern and offset of the normal S2000 wheels but are 17x8 for size. The tire normally on them is a 225/45 17s. I just don't know how this impacts the turning capabilities of the car or if the suspension has to be retuned for the new set of tires.

If I should just continue with my staggered set up that is good too.

I run non-staggered 17X9's. Other than rubbing under compression on the engine bay requiring a spring upgrade I have had no issues. The car handles great and allows freedom of rotation.

What is the offset of those wheels? You should not have to change anything. The car may oversteer, or I should say understeer less, with the same size fronts and rears.

I had very little rubbing with 255/40/17 RS3 on 17x9 +63s with stock suspension once I added J's Racing S2 camber adjusters. A stiff front bar also helped keep my tires out of my liners and inner fenders. With a non stagger setup, you'll likely want a stiffer FSB, if you don't already have one.

I'm currently lowered 1-3/8" with 245/40/17s all around and have zero rubbing with farther than stock travel capabilities (shortened damper bodies allow this).

Couldn't be happier with the 17x9 +63 setup. The ability to rotate tires is very beneficial and I didn't even roll my fender lips. I run about -2.6 to -3.2 degrees of camber depending on other settings.

Just saw that you mentioned STi wheels...which I think are +35-ish offset wheels. They will stick out 15.3mm farther than a set of 17x9 +63 wheels. I'm not sure about the STi wheel offset, but I know 17x8 +35 doesn't fit. I've had 17x8 +35s with 255s mounted to my car and I couldn't see them fitting without some fender pulling.

You could use AP1 or AP2 rears all the way around, if you wanted an easy non stagger solution. I have two sets of AP1 wheels (not willing to sell only rears) I'd be willing to sell for reasonable price. You would need 5mm spacers on the fronts in order to deal with the smaller hub bore of the S2000 wheels. This would likely require longer wheels studs.
