So I have found a very inexpensive Alpine IDA-X305S head unit that I have been eyeing but was not originally looking to fork over 300 to 400 dollars for one.
But the only problem I really have is that the unit says it is only able to hook up 4 channels. On my CR I have the 4 normal speakers plus the 2 in each bar behind the headrests.
Does anyone know if they are configured and similar channels or if the S2000 actually has a amp built in?
Also if anyone has any recommendations for replacement speakers that would be great. I am not look to add a subwoofer as the vehicle size doesn't really require one but I don't even know the size of the rear speaker set.

RonnieB has some infiniti spakers that rock! you have a speaker in each lower door, the tweeters in the upper door and tweeters in the roll hoop. Not sure how they are connected.,,,,,sorry.

You can get an adapter to run your current speaker wire. Don't cut the wire clip, it is pain to reinstall if you sell the car stock down the road.
You can run the speaker wire seperatly. In the past I ran monster cable through my car to run my old system. I at least helped to save on labor costs and learned a thing or two.
If you get the adapter, I know in the past Honda has sold them for other cars you wire the leads from the aftermarket head unit to the adapter and plug it in and it uses the existing speaker wire, power, and ground.
Hope this helps out a bit.

I'm running Infinity Kappa Perfects, off of a Pioneer Premier Head, no amp, and as Doug said it hits hard. Perfect amount of mids and highs with the components. I have 12" sub that I don't use also. But it was over kill.
Do you guys know what Tweeters would be good for the car. On my CR I know I would have to replace six total, so I am looking for something that isn't going to break the bank when I get this done.

I have Polk Momos in my car, at the moment. They came with cups made for the S2k, so it was just a matter of bolting them in...could not have been any easier. The tweeters required cutting holes in the door panels, but that was cake, as well. Though, you will need to drive them with an amplifier. I'm using a Kenwood Excelon 900 watt amp for the pair of components. The Clarion head unit I was using as the reciever just crapped out, however. Are you going to use a Modifry module to keep the left-hand controls functional?
