Thumbs up OT: Earliest Technology memory...

I'm going to show my age...but I'm interested in how far back you remember how things were, when you were a small child?

I remember when no one had home computers or laptops and computers were the size of a room and used by Scientists only.

I remember when Televisions were only Black and White & there was no VHS/VCR or any other way of recording a show on television. Channels were changed by a dial, no remotes back then...no such thing as cable.

I remember when there were no camcorders/video cameras or video games.

I remember when there was only Black and white film for cameras. Flash bulbs were discarded after one use.

I remember when music came on a round vinyl disk that was 1 ft across. and played on a phonograph (Albums), then there was 'reel to reel' recordings, then there were 45's (two songs on one small vinyl disk) then there was 8 track cassettes which quickly were out of style with the invention of the cassette. CD's followed.

What's your EARLIEST technology memory?

I remember when my nextdoor neighbor got a Grand National and it was the most outrageously hi tech performance car you could buy at the time.

I also remember when Richmond Hill wasn't little Calcutta.
