Default Quick Question

question #1
got a CEL for the charcoal canister...im gonna go to honda to change it but i just wanna make sure that driving the car like this i wont hurt anything since i dont know what this thing does

tranny is feeling really notchy from 1st to 2nd and down shifting back to second. tranny fluid was changed at 30000 and now i am at 34000. should i just change the fluid again or have honda look at it?

waht fluid did u use in the tranny?

try to find a used charcol canister. im pretty sure honda is expensive for that part.

they wouldnt do it under warranty?

I guess honda mtf...it was changed at honda by the owner before me at the dealership i got it from

depends on what warranty you have. your 3yr/37.5k mile warranty is up. not sure about hondacare. give it a try.

hmmm i think so. if it is then its covered by federal law for 8yrs/80k miles just like the cat is. or at least it should be.

Yeah i'm 99% sure it is for emissions only and won't damage anything at all when driving with it messed up. Think I removed that from my Eclipse when I was removing all the emissions stuff out of the engine bay.

Just double checked and yes it is there only to filter gas vapors and all. No worries but yes it should be covered for sure under warranty.

cool thanks for all the info...the car is CPO-ed so i got a bit more. ill try to get it with honda care...any ideas on the tranny? maybe just get some amsoil in there and see how that works?
