$10k-$15k great 3rd car?
My dad and i bought the Shogun together as an investment, and it worked out pretty well, except we never got to drive it (subliminal...piece of shit).... anyway, what is another decent car we can find..... we actually finished ahead a little on the shogun.
I thought;
1 - 914 porsche, but found out that a v8 version is not smart. searching for a porsche 6 cyl version
2 - pantera ---i think they cost too much
3 - nsx --- ahahahah
4 - GMC Syclone (right price range, not so sure about "collector" though)
5 - ?????
Thanks...Scot

If you like rewiring and restoring, I love the Austin Healey 3000. They have good resale (do NOT get a Sprite), and more importantly, they are sleek and BEAUTIFUL. For lack of money for a 3000, I settled on a Sprite a few years ago, did a lot of work on it, and I still lost my @%* on it when I sold it.
bayarea - I already have a gmc typhoon (teal with 32k miles).... i was looking for something that may (or may not) go up in value, but be unique and fun to have (like the shogun, but not so difficult to get running)
A GNX would be pretty neat except they are $20K+++ for a good low miles one.
I'll keep looking for the ultimate 914 for right now i guess.
Austin Healey 3000 would be neat with S2000 running gear.
Thanks for the suggestions

If you can find a original GNX for under 15,000 buy it. You can get a great grand national for under 15k. We just bought a 87 bone stock 60,000 miles for 9500. A used 911 will always be a great investment. They rearly dive in prices but you will not make money on them. If you want a porsche get a 914 of a 356 as they are the only ones that are climbing in value right now and have been for the last five years or so. I have quite a few connections in the pca poc world so if you want a spec 914-6 give me a pm and I can direct you to some of the best in the country. They might fall a little out of your price range by about 2-3k though for the best of the best.
The older you go the better off you are when you try and re sell the car. Just don't get stuck in a position where you have to sell the car. I had my 917 up for sale for almost 6 months before I found a buyer that wanted the car enough to pay for it. Good luck, looking for and wishing about cars is a lot more fun then paying for them.
O on a side note you can pick up a older 550 spyder replica for that type of cash. They never and I mean never drop in value. Look into beck and vintage or go to www.spyderclub.com
