I've been here since near the beginning and don't mind newbies asking where the hidden compartment is at all. It's about the only thing I know something about.

Look at the thread about the guy asking if he should propose. Mostly good answers, no flames. OK, group hug.

This site and IWSTI seem to be tame.

I have been a member of VW, Camaro, Jeep, Explorer, and Kawasaki forums. This is by far the most easy going crowd I have seen so far.

I have only been lurking here a month though.

I tried that site out way back in the day. Its way to open. I find boards generally work better when they're more targetted towards a specific vehicle and even more specifically a motor.

Zilvia is uber broad, so its full to the brim with dickwads. Unless you live at home and spend all of your time and money on parts and making it out the track, you're a loser and you dont know anything.

Once a forum is 5+ years old, there is only really room for about 2-3 new threads a month. Everything else has been covered, so there is no real need to make new threads from many peoples perspective. These are the annoying people who spend more time looking for a "go search" jpg on google than they would if they just answered the question with a few short words.

ps. Zilvia is nothing, atleast you have to own a car to be a member on that forum. Go join a bodybuilding forum or even worse a random video site forum.

This forum is going downhill as well. Lotustalk is what s2ki used to be many years ago. It's simple: as the price of the car drops significantly making it so much easier for younger people to afford, automatically the forum will be ruined by idiots among them.

There's an up and a down side to this situation. I was reading a thread yesterday where someone stripped a valve adjustment screw and people were telling him to go to a dealer. I'm a member on sites where people replace pistons like people on here change their oil, if you have a site of white collar'd professionals you aren't going to have the same tech level available.

The "idiot level" is a reflection of moderators and admin. I've had a couple forums and policed them like a full time cop, they were very adult and professional. If the admin has a "who cares", free for all attitude, the website is going to suck.
