Is that a real turtle? I can't tell.

I had my red ear slider for nearly 12 years now. My friend caught them all in a lake and gave me one; it was the only one that lived past 1 year from a batch of 11 turtles.

my turtle (i got him when he was that small) is now bigger than my palm (2 years later).
