While I agree that the way we do it does not make sense, I do not agree with your logic.

To say we write it as if it were comparable to MM:HH:SS is wrong because minutes make up hours, much like days make up months. MM:HH:SS would be like DD:MM:YY.

Too much Stella tonight.

It all comes down to language.. We say April 6th, others say the 6th of April.

I'm not going to lie; I just wanted to type those wicked abbreviations!
