One of the nice things about the 1.8T is the turbo. I like the idea of spending $400 bucks to bring the HP up, even if it's up to the level of the 2.8. Just sounds neat to me!

think......6spd

I would think about the Audi and the Maxima. But I favor the Maxima more because of the 255hp as well as the 6spd transmission.

just my 2 cents

This is my opinion

BMW 3 series are a waste of money. People only own them to say they own a BMW.

Audi A4, everyone I know that has one has more time at the dealer than in the drivers seat.

Maxima - Love it, but keep in mind the new one comes out in '03 totally redesigned with new motor.

Altima is a cool looking car, bigger now than the Maxima! With the same motor in the SE.

I am personally torn between the Altima SE and a TL-s, granted there is a big $ difference.

I had no idea that the Acura had a 6 speed trans up their sleeves. That would be my first choice. Although, the Maxima would be a nice second.

I'm also looking for a 4-door vehicle, and visited the Nissan dealership this past weekend. Of the two Nissan's, I'd definitely go with the Maxima. The fit and finish on the Altima (at least the ones I saw) isn't in the same league as the Maxima. I don't think a single body panel on any Altima I saw was actually on straight. The panels on the Maxima's were dead-on by comparison.

When I looked, I noticed that the Maxima's were built in Japan, and the Altima's were built here in the U.S.

Pretty sad really.

Hmm. Didn't know that.

I was behind a 02 Maxima this morning, and the chrome ring tail lights are terrible. There was also one coming toward me on the way home last night ant the grille is big and ugly too. I hadn't noticed it before. Still a great car, but might need a grille swap...
