I guess Im an old fashioned conservative, but if you have the means, and you have the energy, by all means have as many kids as you like. IMHO, 17 kids to responsible parents is a lot better than 1 to Scot's tenants.

Yeah this family had a show on tlc for a while. They built there own house and the dad put most of the kids to work, even the little ones. There clearly Mormon and clearly have to many kids.

There is NO way two parents can give each of the children the attention they need. How many of those kids have grown up waaaay too early because they're busy caring for their younger siblings?

My Mom's family was 7 children. Often she would talk about how an older sister was more or less the one who raised her over her parents. With 17 I am sure there are several units with in the group. Where an older brother/sister takes charge of several younger ones.
