Soooo many reasons why $17k just isn't enough to make me want to do that!

This topic hits close to home. The research is usually done at the reseach wing in my Medical school.

I volunteered for a 5 week diet study between by 1st and 2nd year. It was a soybean milk study. I had to only eat what they gave for 5 weeks. They would draw blood once a week to see if there any indicators of Soy bean antioxidants. I had to sleep in the hospital for 6 of 7 days so that I wouldn't just snack outside. I was miserable(almost depressed) but made $750 and had free food for 5 weeks. I took the time to study for Part I of the boards.

The best money for reseach was letting Cardiology fellows do carotid arterty injection studies. You got $1500 for 2 different days of volunteering. Risks included death, paralysis - I passed on that one.

i'm surprised that super-morbidly obese people don't sign if for this study. they can do this for years at a time.

90 days! They should just get prisoners that are in jail to do this and pay zero. What a waste of tax payer money.

Need a break from the working, walking, and standing required by the demanding and stressful life you lead?

Well, pack your bags for Houston because NASA wants to pay you $17,000 to stay in bed for 90 straight days.

Does NASA have any plans for studying the effect of extended use of toilet seat on human body? Oh, wait, it
