the other homeless thread reminded me of an idea i had a long time ago.

people starving and homelessness is a problem. pigeons are a problem.

why not let homeless people kill and eat pigeons. seems like it would solve 2 problems simultaneously. homeless get fed with lean protein, and less pigeons!

 

Who's going to pay for the shotguns and shells? And the (though incredibly unlikely, still possible) collateral damage?

Oh, and it's fewer pigeons, not less pigeons.

 

city pigeons with shotties is overkill. just throw a rock from 2 feet away or kick one to death. imo, city birds have grown too bold and need to be taken down a notch.

Poor pigeons. I used to raise homing pigeons with my uncle years ago... Those pigeons were awesome...and it's amazing the pedigree of a pigeon. At any rate, I see them and can't dislike 'em. They are living animals and have just as much right to live as we do.

Our day will come...soon enough.

 

...pigeons are disgusting. they eat and wallow in trash, poop everywhere, and surround you when you are trying to eat your lunch outdoors in the city. they get uncomfortably close, i would like to eradicate them all.

 

I'm sure many species feel the same about US.
