Default 2000 Prelude, 145 mph?

I am wondering, could a stock 5 speed Prelude (not SH) do 145 mph ?
and could it slightly pass RSX-S at the high end??

For myself, I don't believe that, but, my friend keeps telling me this..!!
I know there are few Prelude owners here, can you answer my question?

I'm sure it could...just not sure if it has a governor...

I've taken my car up to 145 without problem. over 3100 lbs and 185 HP, CD of .31.

hmmm, I think the RSX-S will take it just because it's lighter.

I'm sure Sev knows, cuz he owned one but in my opinion, the RSX-S would win in the top end
because it's lighter and that probably the i-VTEC would be more of a helper than the VTEC.

I had a 1998 SH, it was fairly fast, I brought it up to 232 KM/H (144 MPH) once with me an 2 others on board, it had a little more room to go too.... However the RSX type S has the slight advantage in wheel horspower from what I have seen in dyno #s, it weighs about 200 pounds less, has shorter gears... So basically, a well broken in RSX Type S should be faster then a lude.

I have been in one and in my opinion, the car is half way between the prelude and the Type R in performance and is equal to the lude in luxury.

Sorry guy. Very low end and Very high end the lude will romp on the RSX S. SAme hp with more torque. I still hav't seen an RSX that can edge me out. That's with the regular bolt-ons, no internals. ANd I've topped out at 240 km/hr on my own.

I once hit 150 in my 97 Prelude "Black Magic." It had no top end governor.
