If he didn't know he was clocked from above... he probably didn't even know why he was being pulled over...

thus giving no reason to run...

Last I checked, there was only one street bike that could travel over 200mph without "mindless modifications," and that is the Hayabusa. I suspect the cop measured the speed wrong (though they'll never admit it). I think more details would be in order for this story. Although, if I was gonna speed in excess on a bike, I would probably have the sense to get a motorcycle license.

They reported that it was an RC-51 (my old bike), and unfortunately achieving 205mph on a RC-51 is pretty much the stuff of fantasy.

The 205mph has pretty much been debunked in the motorcycle world but it makes for a good cop story.

Yep, the only production bike that has ever crossed the 200mi mark before the 186mph-limit was the '99 Hayabusa. Some stock Busas back then had even reached 209mph. Later, all bikes were limited to 186, but that could easily be bypassed on the Busa.

When you ride at those high speeds, you're playing with the devil.

Totally. The other discrepancy I realized was the possibility of there simply not being the road to DO 205 on. I mean, it's not really easy to make any street vehicle travel at speeds over 200mph! The bikes would have needed literally miles of straight, clear roads to even physically attempt that speed. I would be curious to know more about the road on which this speed was measured. I think the whole thing is one big pantload!

This pretty much sums it up

``I'm not entirely sure what would happen if you crashed at 200 miles per hour,'' Swanson said. ``But it wouldn't be pretty, that's for sure.''
I have pictures of what happens when a Suzuki GSX-R 1000 is dropped at 280 kph (174mph). The guy was torn in parts, literally. Both legs gone, one arm gone, half his head gone, and many of his internals spilling out on (what remains of) his torso. He was wearing full gear - didn't make a difference.

I'd post these but they're pretty rugged - not for those with a weak stomach, for sure.

The guy must've hit some things while sliding. Ouch.

Ben Spies went down at 186mph at Dayona on his GSXR 1000. All he had were 2nd degree burns. In this case, his leathers literally saved his ass. I don't even know what to call that...plain out crazy I guess.

No thanks, dude! I don't need to see them pics.
