Default 32 car horrible car pile up

Horrific car crash

Oh my, I just watched the news and my jaw dropped! This is so horrible. A 32 car pile up. The overhead pictures look like a bomb hit. Urghh too many accidents.

OMG....nine dead and 34 hurt. Out here in CA, highway 99's had some similar incidents due to zero visibility fog. Scary stuff...

Think about that next time you're driving in heavy fog. If you can't see where you're going, then the people behind you probably can't see you either.

Some of the Floridians will remember a 62 (or 64, the number eludes me) car pile up on the Sunshine Skyway Bridge about 4 years ago due to pea soup fog. People who made it through the fog stopped and told toll collectors to post a warning on the magnetic signs over the roadways, but the toll collectors blew off the warnings, and within 30 minutes, the pile up started.

Just how stupid is it to continue driving in fog so thick that you don't see something until you are ON it and without response time to stop??

Just an FYI, a survival show I saw once said that the correct thing to do if you are caught in thick fog is to pull over, far off the road and KILL THE LIGHTS. Otherwise, other drivers intending to press on will likely think that your lights are that of another driver on the roadway and follow you off the road.
