401K from previous job

roll it over. it's the safest way. if there's a blackout period at your old company, you won't be able to access your money in the event of an emergency.

I think I have a problem then.... I have a 401K account from 2002(last day of employment) with a former employer and I never did anything about it. I still have it in their account and it's doing great. I also have a new 401K with my current employer. I never rolled over or anything. I also have IRA account on my own.

Should I be worried?

I would check into fee's and things where you plan to roll it over. I work for a division of government, and they charge almost no fees for my accounts. I have the option to roll it over if I change jobs, but fees would almost certainly be much higher and my funds do quite well. I think in my case I would keep a good thing and start a seperate 401k at the new job but your case may be different.

It's your money, you can leave in that account or roll it over. I've left an employer 5 years ago since they had good funds I left the money there.
