Now that I think about it, I haven't seen that sort of stuff in a while. About 15 or so years ago it was all the rage to put the ///M symbol on plain-jane BMW's. I've seen it so often that I probably wouldn't even notice today.
Not saying this actually is one, but there were factory E34 M540i's made in 1995. They had just about everything but the engine. 200 in the US and 32 in Canada. The US ones were called the 540i Sport but they had ///M badges.
actually isn't it OK to put a M badge on a BMW. Isn't it more of a reverence to the pride in BMWs than a poseuring of a ride?
I hear it is OK IF:
You don't change the bade (like a 318 to M3)
If it is on the driver side
I see a few 318's changed to M3
-square mirrors
-14" wheels
-4 cyl drone
I challenged them all the time in my GSR and just kept verbally goading them. They would always give an excuse like the clutch is bad or they don't want a ticket.
