Buddy of mine passed this along to me. Haven't tried the car unlocking one, but my friend said it worked.

I actually tried the car unlocking thing earlier this year by having my wife press the unlock button on the remote from the other side of the house and the darn door unlocked when I held the phone close to the car door in the garage. I was shocked because I thought most of these types of deals were bogus crap.

maybe the remote just has that range? They do work over a good distance.

The snopes deal says the car unlock doesn't work, but damn if it didn't for me. Unless, I am going crazy and I just imagined that I tried this?!?!?!?

I think what Raj is suggesting is you may have been close enough for the remote to be working on its own. Being on the other side of the house doesnt really prove the claim. I used to lock and unlock my Audi from my college dorm 7 floors up and 3-500 ft away
