580 HP/ 580 lb. ft. ESCALADE...
In the new Car & Drive (the 10 Best issue), there's brand new Escalade (2004) which is powered by a twin turbo engine, generating 580 HP and 580 lb. ft. of torque...and sits on 20s.
That's just amazing.
I think it's a modded Z06 engine in there.

How wonderful for all Escalade enthusiasts, if there is actually such a thing. It's still a big, gas sucking brick as it blows by me (I'll just move on over and let it go by). Reminds of that TV commercial - CHUG CHUG A LUG, CHUG CHUG A LUG, CHUG CHUG A LUG A LUG A LUG, CHUG CHUG....................
i'm not a big fan of SUVs, but boy, am i in love with escalades...
there sit a dropped (so much, as neuspeed springs for s2000), limo- like tinted, creamy brown/ beige escalade with huge, huge, i mean HUGE chrome wheels in my apt. garage... and a girl drives it.
that happens to be my favorite car in the entire garage.

DIDN'T YOU NOTICE
the writer made sure to emphasize strongly that it wasn't fast!
the only thing cool about it is that GM is behind it.
Obviuosly they intend make a super vette similar to this on the c6, which will butcher the viper.
anyway, lingenfelter does a much better job at this stuff as of now.
