A model displays a rare 603 carat white diamond sold for $12.36 million during a news conference in Antwerp, October 9, 2006.
The diamond, the 'Lesotho Promise', will be cut up and sold for an expected $20 million.

I watched this show about some scientists who created a process that literally makes a diamond using a similar high heat and compression process that makes real diamonds in nature. They even added impurities normally associated with different diamond clarity variances. I think they even planned on selling them, a bit cheaper than a nature made diamond. Science are fun
