OK F1 fans let's get it going. The F1 teams are allowed to start getting ready for the 02 season. Let the testing begin! The big questions are: Will K. Raikkonen be able to step into Hakkinen's shoes for McLaren? Will David Coulthard rise to the number 1 spot in the team, and really get after M. Schumacher? Will M. Schumacher be as strong as last season for Big Red, (Ferrari) and what about R. Barrichello? Will Jaguar be able to contest 4 spot from Jordan. What about BMW? Will they live up to the promise of last years efforts? What will Honda do with BAR to improve their results. I can't wait!

Lots of questions worth 2 be answered so here's my 2 cents: Kimi will probably deliver as expected from the team, he's young, talented and has the car to prove it.
Now, Coulthard may have a chance to battle for the champ. but it really depends on his motivation and again, the engine. Yes, Micheal will be as good as last year due to the great support of fans and the team and is on fire cuz he knows he can beat more records. As far as Barrichello is concerned I think he has a lot more chances than last year to win, because the pressure on the Red Baron has decreased after he won the champ., but Rubino has to push more if he wants to be competitive. Jaguar has a great chance since Jordan has a new #2 driver to compose with.
BMW will definitly a chance to win the driver/constructor champ. Because they learned a lot from last yerar's experiences (Ralf and Montoya's victories) and can improve their powerplant to be even faster. I'm sad to say that BAR has a slight chance of being 3rd or 4th in the constructor champ. but it depends on the new engine/chassis combination that Honda/Reynard provides. Also it depends on Jacques Villeneuve's motivation after his good friend Craig Pollock left the team but
now that Craig has become JV's manager he (Craig) can support JV more than last year...pphheeww!!!
I can't wait till the season starts!

Bernie; I am not so sure. If the William's/BMW team can get their act together, that BMW powerplant will match-up well with the Ferrari in the power comparison. Their V10's just need to stay together for the full race distance. They have a couple of good drivers,so I think they might be real contenders.
I am really hoping for a good season of racing. As much as I love those red cars, I don't want to see them check out on the first lap, and not see any competition for the rest of the race. Will you be going to the race in Melbourne?

Much as I'd love to believe that I don't think its going to be plain sailing for us this year.

I believe that Mclaren will have a tremendous resurgence this year and with Mika H out of the picture I think DC will be given at least equal billing in Ron Dennis' attitude for the 1st time (at least I hope he will )

BMW-Williams are going to be very strong again, undoubtedly the 3rd year BMW package will be more reliable than last years offering and if it packs as much grunt Ferrari are going to suffer at their hands.

Lastly, if the Scuderia do roll out the F2002 on the grid at Melbourne it is such a revolutionary car that they could suffer some serious gremlins... on the other hand, if it all holds together MS could blitz the rest of the field into a distant memory

I'm rooting for the Honda powered teams! Hopefully, they can come in closer this year than last year to the top finisher.

Seems like we got some hard core F1 fans here. GREAT! Have any of you been fortunate enough to have been to a F1 event? I hope to get to Indy for the USGP...sometime? I am sure I have been spoiled by Speedvision, but I really want to get an ear full of a live Ferrari at full song. It's been a dream for a long time!

The bigger question is how many F1 tracks have you actually driven!

Several of us have traveled to Indy for USGP F1. I'm pretty sure we intend to repeat for '02. Get ready to by tickets this summer but be sure to get a room as early as possible unless you want to end up staying in Michigan!
