70 is the new 55

You are incorrect. Speed is NOT always a factor and can be argued that it is NEVER the factor but rather the inability to control a car at a certain speed.
An arbitrary speed can be handled by different people in different cars differently. To slap a "speed was a factor" in any and every accident where the speed limit was exceeded is nothing more than standard lip service so that police officer can keep writing speeding tickets to pay their salaries and insurance companies can continue to raise peoples' rates.
How can speed be a factor for nearly all the accidents when 100% of the drivers on the road speed at some point in their daily drive. By that logic every single person who takes their car out on the road will end up in an accident the instant they hit 36mph in a 35.

Totally, kinda makes you wonder why the NHTSA is employed? They do their surveys and studies on real time data, and have people with engineering degrees and smart people make the suggestions for safe operating limits based in facts and real life factors.
Dumb cops just say, speed speed speed is bad bad bad. Ofcourse, the typical traffic cop barely made it out of highschool. According to a cop, a blind person is perfectly safe to drive as long as he isnt speeding and spending some time in AZ I can see thats a truly factual statement lol.
As to why there isnt a fast lane is beyond me.... Id sure as hell pay a nice 1k a year fee to drive in one. Make the minumun 80 and anyone caught in it doing under 80 get a nice fat ticket, comparable to someone "speeding" in a slow lane.
Aww hell, ill get to the point.... F the police!

They are better drivers BECAUSE They are taught differently and have graduated licenses (IIRC)
Also the German cars have rear view mirrors in them so they can see people coming up on them.
What do you mean American cars have rear view mirrors?
Since when?
Well why don't more people use them?
They think they own the road?
Do they?

ever drive the road to hana at 70

I stop and hold up traffic to get some clear corners andl I catch the car in front of us , then do it again as the pads, brake fluid cool down.
My wife even has navigator notes on her phone.
Never buy a used rental car in Hawaii cause I may have tweaked it

I live for my trips there, waking up at 3 in the morning to get some clear roads and hopefully not some asshat Turk in his lorrie putzing in my lane. Don't flip off drivers the fine is steep, ask me how I know
But getting a license there runs about 3 to 4K, try selling that price to Joe Six Pack here.
