It depends on the car obviously, a convertible like the s2000 it doesn't make sense to have the ac on all the time. Having said that. studies have been done, showing that using your ac can reduce gas mileage up to 20%. However, having your windows open, causing aerodynamic drag can reduce gas mileage up to 10%. So the 10% difference or 10 miles out of every 100. Just isn't enough for me personally to worry about it. So if I am in my beaters the ac is on. In the long run it might add up, but I'd rather be comfortable then sweaty when I get to work.




for the best of both worlds
I only use it when my wife rides with me or when it's raining. That's about it.
