Seriously bent valves from a timing belt idler pulley failure, what should I do?

Options:
Remanufactured engine $6,300?
Used with 64,000 miles $4,150?
Donate it or Trade it and cut losses?

Car has 120,000 miles and is starting to really show it's age, rust etc...

Bummin.

That really sucks, Marcel!

Time to either unload or reinvest in it.

How do you like the MDX?

My wife would love one but I'm not about to trade her '00 Accord EX-V6 for one.

My wife and I love the MDX, we just came back from skiing with the kids and it did great! Much more comfortable than the Tahoe, which is now my ride until I figure out what to do with the Legend. Dealer has offered $4,000 as is with no payment for service work performed, not a bad deal, not a great deal. Will wait and see what happens, thinking about an M5 but will probably settle for a 540i 6 speed. really torn right now.

Munch, BUMMER!

I have a 93 LS 6 speed coupe. There isn't another coupe out there that I'd rather have (just don't do German cars, although they make the best machines.) I have 125K on mine, and it runs like new. (Better actually, because of the mods, see below.) There are some outfits which import Japanese Type II engines. I'd get one of them. I think they put out a bit more HP anyway. I'm sorry about your engine. If the car is in good shape, I'd get another engine. Is yours a 6 speed?

Koni Adjustable Shocks
Dynamat sound proofed interior and trunk

5-60 mph - 6.5 seconds

Just curious...would you really want a sound-proofed interior? How would you hear if someone honked at you?

Well, Jay, that's a really interesting question. Sound proofing the interior is not the same as wearing ear plugs. In the Legend LS 6 speed coupe, Honda struck a beautiful balance between luxury and high performance. By modifying the Legend with a high performance intake, low restriction muffler, Dinan S-2 chip (7000 rpm red line), Eibach springs which lower the car and wider 17" tires, I tilted that balance, enhanced the car's performance substantially. But, there is no free lunch, Jay. I had to give up some of the suppleness of the ride and the serene quiet that I previously enjoyed. The intake sound is a beautiful, rich moan which was really loud at WOT, and the exhaust rumbles at cruise and roars at WOT, where previously there was a silent, urgent rush of acceleration. The dynamats reduced road noise, intake honk and engine noise as well as the exhaust noise.

I can still hear when someone honks.

But, although almost as quiet now as when new, acceleration is violent instead of enthusiastic.
