Default Acoustic Guitars

I am looking to get a nice beginner's acoustic guitar.
My budget is $200.00

I've had good experience with Yamaha Pianos, but I am unfamiliar with all the guitar brands out there.

Can any of you suggest some good ones? Obviously worksmanship and sound quality are important.

Thanks

edit: epic fail - accoustic

Here's a little advice.... take a C out of "Accoustic" but make sure it's not the one at the end.

I got an Epiphone for $200 back in the day and I still use it. Try that or a Fender or for a little extra cash you could probably find a decent Takamine or Martin. Your best bet is to go to guitar center and play it first though.

Art & Lutherie . . . although I don't remember whether they have a $200 model now.

I got my Breedlove for $217, but YMMV.

The trick with anything under $300 is to make sure you get it set up properly from a good luthier. After that, you'll probably have a reasonable student model.

Weaksauce. What you really need is a 1941 D-28.

Ibanez, Yamaha, or Jasmine by Takamine?
They all offer acoustics in my price range. Which would you all recommend?

Buy an alvarez RD-8 and be done with it.

I have a Taylor. I like my cheap Alvarez better.
