Took the words right out of my mouth!!!

Terrorist attacks by outside nations are usually political in nature....terrorist attacks from within tend to be HATE crimes. Hate crimes can unweave what America is and what Americans are.

Don't believe me, ask the people on recieving ends of these crimes of what they think of all, or most American caucasians....there's a reason African Americans of the past coined the term "white devil". What I'm getting at is a crime like this perpetuates hate with more hate....it has the possibility to tear apart America at the seams...

Politic orientated attacks (against us) seem to bring the people of the US, in general, together.

Just to let you know, there are reported incidences against many American....not just Arab Americans....it seems that if you "look" Middle Eastern, you'd better be on a higher sense of awareness of what's around you.

Don't think this is localized to the United States right now either.

Anti-Arab sentiment has hit Canada as well. I heard this morning that 3 Muslim teenagers were beaten and kicked by 40 Canadian highschool kids shortly after the announcment of the attacks were made.

This is just a sickness of tragedy, unjustified and emotional.

I tell you what, if your caught doing it you will be arrested as a common criminal, thrown in jail with the rest and treated in the same fashion. Plan and simple if you are part of it I hope that I don't get the chance to be involved. They are breaking the law just as a mugger, thug, murderer etc. I'll damn sure see that they regret it. These idiots are criminals. They are infringing upon another law abiding Americans rights. God help them.

I'm with you on that one JRM. There have been some minor incidents from undereducated redneck peasants in Australia also. Isolated incidents (non-violent as far as I know) in a country generally regarded as one of the most successfull multi-cultural countries in the world. I've also noticed some posts containing anti-muslim rhetoric on the board. Stereotyping of people, races, cultures is not on.

This is a very selfish act, people becoming vigilantes. Most of the hate is towards innocent poeple be it Arabs or people resembling them. I am a Sikh, I do wear a turban, and have a beard. I am not a muslim, but due to lack of knowledge I know of many incidents in the past couple of days directed towards my kind. Most muslims don't even wear a turban or have beard. So please keep your emotions in check, we all are shocked and hurt and angry, but its for our government to punish the unjust, our job is to support any government action, not take action ourselves...

America is a melting pot, with a wide range of nationalities feeding into it to create what we call the United States. To attack one part attacks the foundations of what built our country.

I believe that the strongest statement we can make to the rest of the world is for all Americans, regardless of color or origin, to stand united as one to show the world that we are better than the hate inflicted on us. I've heard a lot about how heinous it was to attack innocents, but to attack a fellow American based on their color or religion is also attacking an innocent and one of our own.

Like many times before, I have to disagree with you JRM....only this time I disagree in favor of taking your thoughts and hoping that the states that the incidences occur in have "Hate Crime" laws.....that way they get punished more harshly and their name goes on a "Hate Watch" list.
Luder are you agreeing to disagree? Or, are you agreeing with the sentiments of what I've said?
