A freind of mine is nuts for a new MDX, but he's having trouble finding one. Anyone have any ideas on how to find one in the chicago area for a decent price??

has your friend thought of buying one out of the area and then having it shipped?

it seems that horrendous gas prices in S. Cal have had a very negative effect on MDX sales here. Whereas dealers were charging dealer markups a few months ago, I have heard of dealers having multiple vehicles on the lot today.

just a thought. maybe a few hundred bucks to have the car shipped is worth it if you get a better price and the color/options that you want.

hey lako,

like the S2000 when it hit the shores of the US, there is both a high demand and equally high markup for such a 'desirable' vehicle. and, as Da Hapa mentioned, your friend has a better chance of scouting different dealerships throughout the country in order to find the proper color/style/model he or she wants. it's not uncommon to find 4-6 month waiting lists, especially here in the san francisco bay area. try going through an online auto broker, or making alot of long distance phone calls. it'll be worth making a long distance trip than having to pay a $5000 markup.

just my $0.02....

good luck!

check on edmunds townhall board... they have a pretty active MDX discussion and will probably offer buying info.

actually, another really good board out there to check is http://www.acuramdx.org

it's pretty extensive, and many reputable dealerships post their available stock @ MSRP or better!

these are the only two boards that i visit: s2konline and acuramdx.org
