Be Afraid, be very afraid!
Heh, some states/counties in the US allow and/or encourage departments to use (permanently) siezed vehicles for patrol and/or show purposes. There's a department somewhere in the south (sorry - fuzzy memory) that found it was much cheaper to use siezed BMWs, Corvettes, and the like for their (very) small department's patrol needs. The officers were commenting how it stunk that their work cars were so much nicer than their POVs... Tese types of things are getting less common nowadays, as seizure laws have been changed, and more importantly, the economics of the drug trade are substantially different than they were in the 80s.

Don't laugh the East and West German Police used to use the Bug as squad cars in the 1960's and 70's. Just make sure that it didn't have a 911 engine transplant. It was great for inner city use because of it size.
