Default Air box cover off "whats that noise!"

I have the comptech filter in my S2, and 8,614 on the odometer. When I take the air box cover off I hear this whisling sound only at low RPM'S . What is it any one know? It almost sounds like a screeching belt.

Pretty well all cars make that noise on tickover with the air box lid off. It's nothing to worry about at all. Some people like the whistle, I don't. It disappears as soon as you apply revs.

it makes a deeper "meaner" noise

Basically, any CAI will make a deep noise in a car and some aftermarket cone intakes.

I still haven't found the right time to try that yet! Was out on Monday night, but mainly in traffic so didn't think it would be a good time to try it.... only hit VTEC twice

TJ, you really need to hook up with Kobe, take off the airbox lids and go storm some motorways! You haven't lived until you've heard an S2000 in full VTEC sans airbox lid pass you
