Airsoft guns?
Ok, so for halloween I'm dressing up as Lara Croft
I want to get this: Tomb Raider set
They sell 2 versions of the guns, one "UHC AirSoft Guns Spring" for 24.99 (bought seperate from the set) and the second "GAS Tomb Raider PISTOL Manufactured by UHC
POWERED AND PROPELLED BY GREEN GAS." for 37.99
So the question to those who are into this stuff, is it worth to get the more expensive gas powered guns? It would be fun to have a little target practice set up, so I can see myself using them once the party is over and the costume is put away. Is it worth it tho? Or would the guns that come with the set be fun enough?

well it depends on what you want to do with the guns. If you want to get together with friends and play paintball style and shoot each other with no protection besides a face mask than you should go with the spring guns. Gas powered guns will hurt if you get shot point blank with no protection...I have seen it happen on a friend and he has fat welts that look like birth marks even after a month since the hit.
Target practice is so-so with airsoft, the plastic BBs move a lot off target as distance increases. As soon as you get like 30 ft away, it would be hard to consistently hit a soda can because of the inaccuracy. Gas powered is definitely better accuracy but like I said before you could only do target practice. I recommend the spring guns so you can shoot people even at point blank range and only feel a small sting.

if you plan on playing with them after Halloween, get the spring guns. The gas guns will break in no time at all for the price you are paying. The spring guns put less pressure on the parts, and will last longer.
As has ben said, however, be very cautious - guns in public, even toy guns, can get you arrested for "brandishing." The fact that they are toys is not relevant. You'd think as part of a costume you'd be safe, but some people are too stupid for society, and some are just assholes who'll call the cops just to be a prick.

so so far.. the gas ones are more fun but they will break sooner...
don't worry, I don't plan on running around the streets waving the guns around yelling "look at me, im lara!" The party's at my house and that's where the guns will stay.

Had a bad episode with airsoft guns that ended in handcuffs and a free ride.
Mr. anti-gun got busted with a airsoft.
Now I know why you're so concerned about other people being safe and resposible with there guns, because you couldn't.

I dont want these things for shooting people!! ...wait.. do I?
